Starrly’s ambition sparked after years of flipping through fashion magazines and daydreaming of being a makeup artist. After high school she was able to pursue that dream and set off from her small First Nations community. Since 2009 Starrly trained at leading makeup school Blanche Macdonald Centre, attended celebrity masterclasses with artists such as Mario Dedivanovic, worked at MAC Cosmetics for several years, and has done makeup for countless weddings, events, photoshoots, and music videos. Starrly strived to hone her craft and has become renowned for her clean and creative looks. In 2016 Starrly's love of beauty lead her to the world of Permanent Makeup, earning several certificates and traveling as far as Europe for training. She was a quick learner and excelled fast in the industry, becoming one of the most sought after artists in Alberta for her flawless technique.
Over the past decade Starrly built a name and following for her immaculate artistry, with an impressive portfolio and thousands of applications and procedures under her belt. Starrly currently works as a Freelance Makeup Artist in Edmonton Alberta, is an artist and instructor at Brownude Permanent Makeup Studio, co-owner of Pink Mink Lashes - a luxury line of cruelty-free lashes, and most recently she launched her sustainable clothing brand Baddie on the Block, designing reworked streetwear for women.
Starrly hopes to lead by example, and inspire Indigenous women and youth to just go for it and pursue their passions. She believes your mind is a powerful tool, along with dedication you can achieve powerful things and create your dream life!
